Who we are

Uplift Tax is an introducer service. We identify UK companies that may qualify for tax relief, assess their situation, and introduce them to HMRC-registered specialist advisers.

We are not a tax adviser, accountant, or legal firm. We do not prepare or submit tax claims.

You can contact us at: [email protected]

What data we collect

When you submit an assessment request, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (if you provide it)
  • Your company name
  • A description of your business and activities
  • Which reliefs you are interested in

We may also review publicly available information about your company: Companies House filings, SIC code, and published company details. We do not collect financial records or confidential documents at the assessment stage.

Why we collect it

We collect this information to:

  • Assess whether your company is likely to qualify for tax relief
  • Produce your written assessment summary
  • Match you with the appropriate specialist adviser if you qualify
  • Communicate with you about your assessment and next steps

We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to your assessment.

Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on two legal bases:

  • Legitimate interest: For conducting the initial assessment and reviewing your company profile. We have assessed that this interest is not overridden by your rights, given the clear benefit the assessment provides and the limited nature of the data involved.
  • Contract performance: If you proceed to a specialist introduction, we process your data as necessary to fulfil that arrangement.

How long we keep it

We retain your information for 2 years from the date of last contact, after which we delete it unless an active specialist relationship is in place.

If you ask us to delete your data at any point, we will do so within 30 days, unless we have a legal obligation to retain it.

Who we share it with

We share your data only with HMRC-registered specialist advisers, and only with your explicit consent at the point of introduction.

We will tell you clearly before making any introduction: which specialist, what data we will share, and why.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with any third-party marketing or data companies.

We use Formspree to receive form submissions. Formspree processes your submission data on their servers. You can review Formspree's privacy policy at formspree.io. We use Plausible Analytics for website traffic measurement. Plausible does not collect personal data or use cookies. We use Contentsquare (which includes Hotjar) for session replay and heatmap analytics. Contentsquare sets cookies and processes behavioural data to help us improve the website. This is only active if you accept analytics cookies. You can review Contentsquare's privacy policy at contentsquare.com.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
  • Objection: Object to our processing of your data
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Introducer disclosure

Uplift Tax receives an introducer fee from specialist advisers when a claim is approved by HMRC. This fee is paid by the specialist from their own fee, not by you.

This arrangement does not affect your claim outcome, the specialist's fee to you, or the advice the specialist provides. All specialist advisers on our panel are independent and HMRC-registered.

ICO registration

Uplift Tax is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Registration number: C1901430.

Cookies

This website uses two categories of cookies.

Strictly necessary: No strictly necessary cookies are set by this website.

Analytics cookies (optional, consent required): If you accept analytics cookies, we load Contentsquare (which includes Hotjar). Contentsquare uses cookies to record anonymised session replays and heatmaps so we can understand how visitors use the site and improve it. These cookies are set by t.contentsquare.net and may persist for up to 365 days. No data is sold or shared with third parties for marketing.

Cookieless analytics: We also use Plausible Analytics, which does not set any cookies and does not collect personal data. Plausible runs regardless of your cookie preference.

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies or contacting us at [email protected].

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. We will not make material changes without notice if we hold your data.
